Where to find Claude Code skills in Chinese, and how the main collections compare
A dev.to guide ranks the big English skill libraries and points Chinese-speaking developers to a smaller collection built around local platforms.
The short version
- Anthropic's official skills repository has 182.7K GitHub stars; Composio's list has 77.6K and 1000+ skills.
- The Chinese collection, claude-code-skills-zh, has 893 stars and 438+ curated skills, agents and plugins.
- It adds 20 original Chinese skills and sorts entries by scenario, such as Feishu, WeChat and Xiaohongshu.
- The collection uses the MIT license, which is free; third-party skills follow their own licenses.
- The author advises keeping a working set of 10–15 core skills, not installing everything.
Why it matters
Skills are how people teach a coding agent their routine tasks once instead of repeating themselves. For Chinese-speaking developers, a collection written in Chinese and aimed at local platforms can save translation and adaptation work. The post is also an honest reminder that the biggest list is not always the most useful one.
What a skill is
A skill is a reusable block of instructions for Claude Code, Anthropic's coding assistant. Each one is a folder containing a file named SKILL.md. Copy the folder into ~/.claude/skills/ to use it everywhere, or into a project's .claude/skills/ to limit it to that project. When a task matches, Claude Code loads it automatically.
The typical use is work you keep explaining: code review, writing a README, testing an API. Install the skill once and it is there every time.
The big English libraries
As dev.to reported, the author counted stars (GitHub's bookmark-style popularity measure) using the GitHub API in October 2026. Anthropic's official anthropics/skills leads with 182.7K. ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills follows with 77.6K and 1000+ entries.
Three more are listed: hesreallyhim/awesome-claude-code (56.2K, a general resource list), VoltAgent/awesome-agent-skills (36.1K, 1000+ entries) and alirezarezvani/claude-skills (28.5K, 380 skills sorted into engineering, product and marketing).
What the Chinese collection adds
The laolaoshiren/claude-code-skills-zh repository is far smaller at 893 stars. The author says so plainly and admits that English lists win on sheer volume. Its pitch is density for Chinese-language work.
- Categories follow local needs: platform operations (WeChat official accounts, Xiaohongshu, Feishu, WeCom), content creation, academic research and finance.
- It includes 20 original skills, such as a Chinese code reviewer and a Chinese README generator.
- A website lets you filter by category, which the author says beats scrolling a 686-line README.
Practical advice from the post
Do not install too many. Each skill's description uses part of the model's limited working memory, so the author suggests 10–15 core skills. Other tools such as Cursor, Codex and Gemini CLI can borrow the ideas, though how they load skills differs.
What to watch
- Whether Chinese-language collections keep growing beyond the 893 stars this one has now.
- Whether skills built for Claude Code become easier to reuse in other coding tools.
Try it
Before installing any skill from a list, open its files and read them, since a skill can ship with scripts. Try it in a test folder first, and start with only a few.
