MSI launches world's first RTX Spark-powered 2-in-1 laptop

The new Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is designed to run large AI models locally using a specialized system-on-chip and high memory capacities.

The short version

Why it matters

This hardware signals a shift toward 'agentic AI,' where models run autonomously on your local machine rather than in the cloud. For power users, having enough local memory to run large models means faster responses and better privacy.

A new era for agentic AI

MSI Malaysia recently debuted the Prestige N16 Flip AI+, a convertible laptop designed to support a new category of technology called agentic AI. This type of artificial intelligence is known as autonomous AI because it can design, execute, and optimize complex workflows with little to no human intervention. The hardware is specifically built to handle these independent tasks efficiently.

To run these AI models effectively, the laptop relies on the NVIDIA RTX Spark. This is the world's first system-on-chip to integrate an RTX GPU specifically for on-device AI, content creation, and gaming. By keeping the AI model on the local hardware, users can achieve faster processing speeds than they would by sending data to a remote server.

The device is engineered to ensure that large AI models fit entirely within the laptop's Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) memory. When a model is too large for the GPU memory, the data spills into the slower system memory, which causes the AI's responses to lag. MSI addresses this by offering high-capacity memory options to keep the data where it runs fastest.

Memory and cooling specs

The Prestige N16 Flip AI+ comes in two distinct configurations to meet different professional needs. The 64GB model is intended for AI developers, software engineers, data scientists, and content creators who work with local generative AI, video editing, and AI coding. It provides a balance of power for standard professional workflows.

For those working with much larger models, the 128GB configuration is the primary option. This high memory pool allows users to run models with up to 70-billion and 100-billion parameters locally. This capability is essential for users who need to process massive amounts of data without relying on cloud-based subscriptions or internet speeds.

To maintain these high performance levels, MSI included a Vapor Chamber and IntraFlow cooling system. These components work together to keep the hardware stable during long-running AI agent tasks and model inference. The cooling system is designed to prevent thermal throttling, which is the reduction in speed that happens when a computer gets too hot during heavy use.

Security and versatility

Beyond its internal processing power, the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ includes specific security features aimed at professional users. It utilizes a dual-biometric security system that pairs a fingerprint sensor with an IR camera for facial recognition. This combination is intended to provide a more robust sign-in experience than standard single-method security.

The physical design of the laptop is a 360-degree flip convertible, meaning the screen can fold all the way back. This allows the device to function as a traditional laptop for typing or as a tablet for sketching and presenting. MSI also bundled a Nano Pen with the device to enhance its utility in tablet mode.

The laptop was first showcased at Computex in Taiwan in June before opening for global pre-orders on October 8. It is now available through the MSI official e-store and authorized partners. Customers who purchase the device by December 2026 can also redeem a Care Plus package, which includes an accidental damage protection plan.

The broader MSI lineup

While the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is the standout for AI enthusiasts, MSI Malaysia also showcased other specialized models during the event. These include the Prestige 14 Flip AI+ Vincent van Gogh edition, which is a limited-edition 2-in-1 inspired by famous paintings. This model is notably thin at 11.9mm and features a 14-inch OLED display.

For the gaming market, the company displayed the Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Draco Epic. This is a 40th-anniversary flagship laptop featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. It includes a collector's bundle with a commemorative coin and features precision metal etching.

Finally, the company offered the Modern 14S AI+ as a more accessible option for students and everyday professionals. This model features an Intel Core Ultra processor and a 14-inch OLED display. It is positioned as a lighter, everyday AI laptop and starts at a price of RM4,499.
